Sui Gas Bill Installments: Can You Pay Your SNGPL or SSGC Bill in Qist?

A high winter gas bill can put a household in a tight spot. Many people then ask the same practical question: can the SNGPL or SSGC bill be paid in qist, or do you have to pay the full amount at once?
The honest answer is different for SSGC and SNGPL. SSGC clearly says customers can approach any Customer Facilitation Center for easy installments. For SNGPL, the public pages I checked show payment channels, complaint routes, and customer care centers, but I did not find a public SNGPL page that guarantees ordinary domestic gas bill installments. That does not mean no case can ever be considered. It means you should ask the SNGPL customer care or billing office directly and get the answer recorded before the due date.

Quick Answer
SSGC customers: yes, SSGC says it offers easy installments and customers can approach any Customer Facilitation Center for installments. Take your latest bill, CNIC, and any previous payment proof.
SNGPL customers: do not assume an online partial payment is an approved qist plan. Use SNGPL customer care or the billing complaint route and ask before the due date. If the bill is wrong, file a billing complaint instead of requesting qist for an amount you believe is incorrect.
Best first move
Check your bill, separate current charges from previous arrears, and contact the gas company before the due date. Installments are easier to discuss before the bill becomes a disconnection problem.
Installment vs Partial Payment vs Arrears
These three things are often mixed together, but they are not the same.
| Term | What it means | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Installment / qist | The company formally allows you to pay a bill or dues in parts. | You need the company's approval and record. |
| Partial payment | You pay less than the full amount through a bank or app. | It may not protect you from arrears or disconnection unless accepted officially. |
| Arrears | Unpaid previous amount carried forward to the next bill. | Previous dues can create disconnection risk. |
| Late payment surcharge | Extra charge applied after default or late payment. | SSGC says domestic LPS is 10% of the current bill in case of default. |
SSGC Bill Installments: What the Official FAQ Says
SSGC is the clearer case. Its official FAQ asks, "Do SSGC offers instalments of gas bill?" and answers that SSGC offers easy installments to facilitate customers and that customers can approach any CFC for installments.
So if you are an SSGC customer, the practical route is:
- Open or print your latest SSGC bill.
- Check current charges, arrears, due date, and total payable.
- Visit or contact an SSGC Customer Facilitation Center.
- Ask for the installment schedule in writing or keep the reference number.
- Pay each installment before its deadline and keep receipts.
SSGC's CFC page lists centers across Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Quetta, and other regions. Use the nearest official center rather than relying on an agent or shopkeeper's promise.
SNGPL Bill Installments: What to Do Safely
For SNGPL, I found official bill payment channels such as internet banking, mobile banking, SNGPL mobile application, branchless banking apps like Easypaisa and JazzCash, ATMs, Nadra kiosks, scheduled banks, and post offices. I also found SNGPL customer care center listings and billing complaint types such as Wrong Billing, High Gas Billing, Payment Not Reflected, Minimum Gas Billing, and related billing categories.
What I did not find was a public SNGPL page that clearly says every domestic customer can get a bill installment plan. Because of that, the responsible advice is:
- Do not assume qist is approved just because you paid a smaller amount online.
- Contact your SNGPL regional customer care center or billing office before the due date.
- If the bill is wrong, file a billing complaint first.
- If payment was deducted but not reflected, use the SNGPL complaint type for payment not reflected.
- Keep the complaint number or written office response.
When You Should Request Qist
Installment requests make the most sense when the bill is genuine but too large to pay at once. Common examples include a high winter bill, arrears from previous months, a combined amount after missed payments, or a household cash-flow problem before salary arrives.
Do not use qist as the first solution if the bill looks wrong. If the meter reading is incorrect, the bill is estimated, or the amount includes a suspicious adjustment, first read the estimated bill or wrong meter reading guide. Paying an incorrect amount in installments can make the correction harder later.
Documents and Proof to Keep
Whether you are asking SSGC for installments or asking SNGPL about billing relief, keep a small proof set ready.
Take these with you
- Latest gas bill or duplicate bill print.
- CNIC copy if required by the office.
- Customer number or consumer number.
- Previous payment receipts.
- Any complaint number already received.
Write these down
- Total payable amount.
- Current charges vs arrears.
- Due date.
- Requested installment amount.
- Office visit date and staff/reference detail.
Arrears, Due Date, and Disconnection Risk
This is the part many customers miss. SSGC says bills are payable within the due date shown on the bill, but it also says the due date is valid for the current bill only. If previous bills are unpaid, gas supply can be disconnected anytime.
SSGC also says that after outstanding dues are paid, the customer should provide a paid bill copy and CNIC at any CFC for restoration. If the disconnection period is less than 6 months, restoration is stated as within 24 hours after providing the paid bill copy. If the disconnection period is over 6 months, a survey may be required and restoration may take 7 to 10 days.
In plain language: do not wait until the bill becomes an arrears problem. If you need qist, ask early.
If the Bill Is Wrong, Do Not Start With Installments
A high bill and a wrong bill are not the same thing. If your physical meter reading is lower than the bill reading, or the bill looks estimated/provisional, first collect proof and file the right complaint.
For SNGPL, the complaint form includes billing-related categories such as Wrong Billing, High Gas Billing, Payment Not Reflected, Incorrect Meter Reading, and related meter/billing issues. For SSGC, use the complaints/feedback route or CFC depending on the issue.

Can JazzCash, Easypaisa, or Banking Apps Make Installments?
SNGPL lists branchless banking applications such as Easypaisa and JazzCash among payment channels. SSGC also lists mobile apps like Easypaisa, JazzCash, and UPaisa among payment options. These are payment channels, not automatically installment approval systems.
If an app lets you pay less than the total amount, treat that as partial payment unless the gas company has officially approved an installment plan. Always check your next bill to see whether the remaining amount appears as arrears, surcharge, or adjusted balance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can SSGC bills be paid in installments?
Yes. SSGC says it offers easy installments and customers can approach any Customer Facilitation Center for installments. The company will decide the exact schedule and requirements.
Can SNGPL bills be paid in qist?
I did not find a public SNGPL page that guarantees ordinary domestic bill installments. SNGPL users should contact the relevant customer care center or billing office and keep the response or complaint number.
Will partial payment stop disconnection?
Do not assume that. Partial payment is not the same as an approved installment plan. If old bills are unpaid, arrears can still create disconnection risk.
What if my high gas bill is actually wrong?
File a billing or meter-reading complaint first. Compare the bill reading with your physical meter and keep photos before asking for installments.
Can I request installments after the due date?
You can still contact the company, but it is better to request before the due date. After default, late payment surcharge, arrears, or disconnection risk can make the case harder.
