Sui Gas Bill Calculator 2026

Enter your meter readings below for a rough cost estimate and a quick Protected/Non-Protected category check. Your official bill remains the final payable amount.

Gas Bill Rough Estimator

Enter the black meter digits from your bill or meter. The official bill can differ because SNGPL and SSGC also use GCV, pressure, adjustments, arrears, and exact billing rules.

For a closer estimate, select the Protected or Non-Protected category printed on your latest official bill.

Calculator methodology

Last checked: July 2, 2026. This tool gives a rough planning estimate, not the official payable amount. It subtracts previous reading from current reading, estimates hm3, applies domestic protected or non-protected slab logic, adds fixed charge and meter rent, then adds estimated GST.

Your official SNGPL or SSGC bill can differ because the companies calculate standard cubic meters, pressure factor, GCV, MMBTU conversion, arrears, rebates, meter rent, GST, late payment surcharge, and other adjustments from their billing system.

Gas Tariff & Slab Rates 2026

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) determines the gas tariff in Pakistan. Prices are split into Protected and Non-Protected categories based on your winter consumption.

The winter average review:

Your status (Protected or Non-Protected) is based on your average usage during the 4 winter months (Nov-Feb). Once reviewed, the category generally continues until the next review cycle, so check the category printed on your latest official bill.

CategoryCriteria (Winter Avg)Rate / MMBTUFixed Monthly Charge
ProtectedBelow 0.9 hm3Rs. 200 - Rs. 350Rs. 600
Non-Protected0.9 to 1.5 hm3Rs. 500 - Rs. 1,450Rs. 1,500 (usage up to 1.5 hm3)
Non-ProtectedAbove 1.5 hm3High ConsumptionRs. 1,900 - Rs. 4,200Rs. 3,000 (usage exceeds 1.5 hm3)

Accuracy note

The calculator is now a rough estimator, not a replacement for the official bill. Official SNGPL and SSGC calculations use meter type, pressure, GCV, standard cubic meters, MMBTU conversion, slab rules, fixed charges, meter rent, GST, arrears, rebates, and adjustments.

Real Life Example: The "Summer Trap"

Scenario: You used too much gas in January (Winter) and lost your Protected Status.

Result in July (Summer): You barely use any gas in July (e.g., only 0.3 hm3). However, if your latest bill category remains Non-Protected, you may still be charged the Non-Protected Fixed Charge (Rs. 1,500+) and Non-Protected rates.

This is why gas bills remain high in summer for many consumers.

What is hm3 in Gas Bill?

In SNGPL and SSGC bill language, hm3 is used as a billing shortcut for hundred cubic meters. For example, 0.9 hm3 is roughly 90 cubic meters or meter units before conversion. Your final bill is still calculated in energy terms such as MMBTU using GCV (Gross Calorific Value), pressure, and other billing factors.

How to calculate hm3 in gas bill from meter reading?

To calculate your hm3 manually:
1. Take your Present Meter Reading.
2. Subtract your Previous Meter Reading (found on your last bill).
3. The difference is your raw gas consumption. Depending on your meter type, you divide this difference by 100 to get your consumption in hm3.
Alternatively, use our calculator above for a rough estimate before you compare it with the official bill.

What is Rebate Adjustment in Gas Bill?

A Rebate Adjustment is a deduction or discount on your total bill. This usually happens if you were accidentally overcharged in a previous month, or if you qualify for a specific government subsidy. If you see a rebate, your payable amount decreases.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to calculate Sui Gas bill?+

Enter your current and previous meter readings into the calculator above. It gives a rough estimate using current domestic slab rates, but your official SNGPL or SSGC bill can differ because of GCV, pressure, adjustments, arrears, rebates, and exact billing rules.

How is Protected or Non-Protected status reviewed?+

Your Protected or Non-Protected status is based on your average gas usage during the 4 winter months (Nov-Feb). Once reviewed, this category generally continues until the next review cycle, so confirm the category on your latest official bill.

Why is my gas bill so high in summer even with low usage?+

If your winter average moved you into the Non-Protected category, the higher fixed charge can continue in later months until the next category review. You may pay Rs. 1,500-Rs. 3,000 even when current summer usage is low.
